About the event
Melinda Rice is a violinist, violist and composer interested in music with space for genuine reaction from performers and audience. Melinda’s recent collaborative projects include leading the Ursinus String Ensemble, developing a performance combining looped string music, spoken word and local history (re:claim with Heather Bowlan at Laurel Hill Cemetery, and then at Hansberry Garden), a song cycle around a personal history of water for piano, violin, and voice (Water Cycle with Teri Card Heller), and a solo acoustic violin series with a live siren from a local nuclear generating station (siren songs, and right beneath the moon on Strange Woman Records).
Amy K. Bormet is a pianist, vocalist and composer known for her fearless free-wheeling style and dedication to creating new music. She co-founded Strange Woman Records with Matt Dievendorf in 2019. As a composer, Bormet works with the interplay between what is seen and what is imagined through…
